When I first started thinking about quitting my job and become an independent professional my ideas were nothing more than the result of a soul query for passions and interest. And with each idea that came to mind the first thing I wanted was create a ‘brand’. This was a way to make it more ‘tangible’. Even though the concept was still vague, not well defined, for me it existed, an idea was born.
I had started building a little empire in my head, and got more and more excited, discovering the various options the net offers these days to just start branding, publishing, creating and sharing.
So one of the first things I checked was the availability of the domain name for my brand (.com or .org, in some cases .nl). Could I obtain a matching Twitter handle? Could I get the Facebook page?
“How many companies do you plan to run?” and “Are you planning to have an 80+ hour work week? These are the questions I frequently heard and still hear. I respond by explaining that for me these brands are like tags, they structure my thinking and also my experiences and encounters. They have meaning for me and for you as a reader it might help to identify a common interest and a reason to connect.
On the website I will steadily introduce the different brands/tags and you’ll be able to follow the develop of these MicroStartups. Some may very well become successful companies/communities! Some may fail, some will merge and some will probably stay on the shelf for a while. At least, they keep me busy ;-)
